I'm a half Japanese designer with a love for animation, illustration and movies so bad that they're funny.
I am currently a second year graphic design student at the Arts University of Bournemouth.
One of my favorite projects was the motion design project, which helped me realise that motion and marketing is the path I would like to head towards career wise. Which is why I joined the social media and marketing team for the AUB student magazine, where I created a type motion sequence to promote our fundraiser on our instagram account.
I am competent at using Adobe apps such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects. I also know a little bit of blender and am actively working to improve my skill set in the 3D area of design and motion. While I have a strong interest towards motion design, I am also well versed in print design and branding, and I have knowledge of the basics of typography.
I enjoy the process of researching and coming up with ideas for storyboards, figuring out how a scene can transition from one to another. I love finding the best angles and the most effective way to animate and position a scene or layout to be dynamic and interesting, while being cohesive and telling a narrative not only with context but with visuals and subtle storytelling.
Equality and diversity are important to me, as I am half Japanese. I may not be able to speak Japanese very well right now but I am taking extra classes, after my lessons, over at BU to learn the language and try to connect more with the other half of my heritage. It would also be nice to be able to speak with my family in their language rather than needing a translator.
I am currently hoping to get an internship this summer, hopefully working in motion design so I can further my skills, however I am not opposed to other areas of design as well so I can gain experience and see what other job roles I may be interested in.
